After a busy week, I’ve finally got round to reading the zines I got at Sheffield zine fest last weekend. They are excellent! I bought about 4 times this amount on the day but gave a pile of zines to Greg when I saw him later for his birthday.
The event was brilliant and Bettie and Chella did a great job organising it! Someone made this fun video of the day:
It was nice seeing some friendly folks I met at Leeds zine fair too and I managed to get a couple of Marco Brunello’s new zines. Take a look here: http://brunez.blogspot.co.uk/ He’s given me loads of great film recommendations and also inspired me to invest in some new Promarkers so I can make things in colour!
I shared a table with Liz and Steve from Young Explorer again (I like this tradition). I’ll have to make us some team mugs for the next fair! Liz was kind enough to make this bee brooch for my friend Daisy. I think it’s amazing:)
Another highlight was meeting the lovely Jenna Lee Alldread who was on the table next to us with her collection of illustrated goodies. I got loads of stuff from her table but my favourite thing was this adorable cat collar:
I was excited by a lot of the comics on sale that day too. This kid (Jacob Tomlinson) is much younger than me and also much better at making comics: http://candle-party.tumblr.com/. Also, this fella http://www.robjacksoncomics.com/ who may be my new comics hero.
Overall, a great day. Another one next year please, ladies!
In other news, I made a poster for this gig:
